Recently, there has been a lot of hype over drugs in athletics, particularly focusing on steroid usage. A new steroid, which was designed to be undetectable in drug tests, has been found in the urine samples of several well-known athletes.

Anabolic-androgenic steroids were developed in the 1930s, to promote growth of skeletal muscle and to develop male sexual characteristics. The drug was seen as offering great potential for their protein building properties, but their use by doctors has, in fact, been quite limited. It is their use by body builders, weightlifters and sports men and women with which they are most commonly associated.

The United States Anti-Doping Agency, which is the agency responsible for testing of US. Olympic athletes, has refused to name the athletes that tested positive for this steroid. These drugs are reported to give athletes an unfair physical advantage and the discovery of the drug could ruin the careers of some of the world's top athletes.

Tetahydrogestirone (THG) was discovered in June of 2003, when a small vial of liquid was sent anonymously to the Olympic drug testing laboratory by a coach, suggesting that the liquid was an undetectable steroid. After months of tests, the lab discovered the steroid, THG, in the liquid.

There is now a spotlight on certain professional athletes being criticized for using THG because of the unfair physical advantage it gives the users. There is a problem with reprimanding these players. THG was legal during the time of use and these players are now being questioned and professional sports now has a dark cloud hanging over it.

With all the world's problems, such as terrorists, wars, child molesters, and gun violence, it is preposterous that our Congress is wasting time and taxpayers' money on a game. Would you rather your Congress spend your money figuring out how to lower gas prices, or investigating why someone can hit a ball further than another player?
